Referendums and Plebiscites

The following page contains information about voting in Referendums and Plebiscites

Information about Referendums

Referendums that are held within the Aura Regions are conducted for the purposes of voting on laws. Under the Referendum and Plebiscites Act 2025, the Government may choose to insert a referendum clause within an Act, triggering a referendum.

When a referendum has been initiated, all citizens who have been active on bits & Bytes Minecraft since 90 days prior to the calling of an election must vote in the referendum. Should more than 50% of voters agree with the referendum, the Act is officially passed; else, the Act is officially nullified.

Since the passage of the Referendum and Plebiscites Act 2025, there has been two referendums held.

Information about Plebiscites

Plebiscites that are held within the Aura Regions are conducted for the purposes of opinion polling.

The government may choose to initiate a plebiscite on any matter that the government is unsure about when it comes to the opinions of the people, without having to risk the nullification of a bill voted upon through a referendum.

Since the passage of the Referendum and Plebiscites Act 2025, there have been no plebiscites held.
