2026 1st By-Election

Information

On April 24th, 2026, four MPs of the House of Representatives resigned from Parliament. Under Article VIII of the Auran Federal Government and Government Elections Act 2025, a by-election must be held on the next applicable election day.

The purpose of the by-election is to elect the 4 members for the House of Representatives to succeed those that have vacated.

Elections within the Aura Regions are conducted using the First-past-the-post Electoral System.

• Michelle Kirk (Family First) [3rd Baxford], citing defection to the Alternative Party
• Jack Spencer (Family First) [2nd Snicket], citing defection to the Alternative Party
• Betsy Sheridan (Family First) [4th Snicket], citing defection to the Alternative Party
